DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

AIMS OF PROGRAM
The main objective of this program is to provide specialized knowledge to counseling psychology which focuses on promoting a healthier way of living through through various theoritcal and practical processes. Our teaching faculty members are from across the world and instruct students on a variety of topics such as counselling theory, counselling and psychotherapeutic interventions, and testing and assessment. Graduates develop the skills needed to begin a new career or advance in a current role.Engaging electives give students the advantage of deeper theoretical knowledge and focus on a specialization. Students will be better adept at identifying potential workplace opportunities in community counselling centers, correctional facilities, hospitals, academic institutions, mental health clinics or private practices

DEGREE AWARDED
Upon successful completion of this program (120 ECTS, 27 semester credit hours ), the student will be awarded Master of Science in Counseling Psychology


EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
Graduates of the MSc in Counselling Psychology programme may pursue careers as psychologists, counsellors, social workers in hospitals, community centres, schools and businesses, therapists, family counselors, guidance counsellors and more.


EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES
The goal of the Counselling Psychology program is to prepare students for future careers in Counselling Psychology as practitioners, educators, and researchers , through the acquisition of core knowledge and skills including:

EDUCATIONAL METHODS
Our department is dedicated to advancing knowledge of human behavior as it relates to various fields in psychology. We train our students to be able to work as teachers, counselors, evaluators and researchers clinicians in all works of life by cultivating mastery of skills in the areas of human development and behavior, learning theory and research and evaluation methods and ethical practices. To achieve our aim we employ different teaching and assessment methods. The traditional classroom methods are combined with both lab. And field work to for effective teaching methods and quality learning. Technological platforms such as the e-learning module provide interacting avenues for instructors and students. It is used for the following activities

-Grading
-Moodle instant messages
-Online calendar
-Online news and announcement (College and course level)
-Online quiz
The student also have acces to the library datbase for various reasech activities.


GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
Graduation require students to succesfully complete (120 ECTS, 27 semester credit hours),supervised internship with a minimum CGPA of 3.00 . Graduation is conferred by the University Senate upon the recommendation of the Faculties.
The Diplomas are prepared by the Registrar`s Office, and indicate the name of the Program, the date of graduation, and the degree obtained.
